Meet the Team – Andrew Cromar

Andrew Cromar is an Operations Manager at EOGB who plays a key role in ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day company operations. Having progressed through several roles within the organisation, he has gained hands-on experience across multiple departments and continues to contribute to EOGB’s growth and ongoing innovation.

What is your role at EOGB, and how have your responsibilities evolved over the years?

My role at EOGB is Operations Manager, which consists of looking after the Warehouse & Production areas of the business.

I started as a Production Operator in 2015, then moving to the warehouse as a Supervisor within that year. Then onto Warehouse & Production supervisor, and for the last couple of years as Operations Manager.

What skills have you developed throughout your career at EOGB?

I have gained OFTEC certificate and done burner fault finding course. And over the years have gained a lot of experience in burner oil & gas as well as the Sapphire boiler.

What is the best aspect of your job now?

The most rewarding part of my role is the ability to get involved with all aspects of the job from Warehouse, Production, Sales and R&D to Technical as well as Purchasing —giving me a broad view of the entire operation.

What has kept you motivated and committed to the company for such a long period?

The ever-changing products that we offer, create, and build within the company. Along with the staff that I work alongside daily.

If you could describe EOGB in three words, what would they be?

Reliable, Innovative, Friendly

Meet the Team – Andrew Cooke

Andrew Cooke joined EOGB 8 years ago and has grown from a trainee technical engineer into a key member of our Marketing & Training team. His journey reflects EOGB’s commitment to developing talent through progression from engineering support to training and customer communication.

What was your first role at EOGB, and how have your responsibilities evolved over the years?

I joined EOGB straight out of school in 2017 as a trainee technical engineer. At the start, I was mostly learning the ropes, getting hands-on experience, and supporting the technical team wherever I could and gained my OFTEC qualifications.

In 2020 I moved into the marketing & training supervisor role, which meant taking on more responsibility. Instead of just supporting the engineering side, I started helping shape how we present the company, organising training, working directly with customers, etc.

What skills have you developed throughout your career at EOGB?

I got hands-on technical experience and learned a lot about problem-solving and working with customers. Moving into the marketing & training supervisor role in 2020 added new skills like running organising training sessions, planning marketing activities, and handling more responsibility. I’ve also gained my Assessor and IQA qualifications.

What do you consider the most important skills or knowledge that engineers gain from EOGB training?

I’d say the most important things are practical, hands-on experience and problem-solving skills. EOGB training really focuses on making sure engineers can apply what they learn in real situations.

What new technologies or trends in heating systems are you planning to include in future training?

We’re focusing on the latest in heating tech, like heat pumps, smart controls, and the Sapphire boiler. The idea is to make sure our engineers are confident installing and maintaining these systems, while also being able to advise customers on energy-efficient and sustainable solutions.

If you could describe EOGB in three words, what would they be?

Supportive, collaborative, friendly.

Meet the Team – Peter Dempsey

Peter Dempsey has been an integral part of EOGB for 21 years, contributing to the company’s success across multiple departments and playing a vital role in shaping the operational standards we rely on today. Peter’s experience spans logistics, production, technical support, sales, training, and leadership—making him one of the most knowledgeable and respected members of the EOGB team.

What was your first role at EOGB, and how have your responsibilities evolved over the years?

I started as a Warehouse Operative, managing tasks like picking and packing orders, which gave me a solid understanding of our logistics and inventory management. Transitioning to burner production enriched my product knowledge, leading to a role in technical sales where I interacted with customers and assisted engineers. I then became a trainer to share my expertise and later moved into managing warehouse operations and purchasing. This journey has culminated in my current position as Operations Director.

What skills have you developed throughout your career at EOGB?

I have developed strong analytical skills, focusing on process improvement and efficiency. My problem-solving abilities allow me to streamline tasks and implement changes that save time and resources. I’ve also enhanced my project management skills and my capacity to prioritise effectively while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

What is the best aspect of your job now?

The most rewarding aspect of my role is its dynamic nature—every day presents new challenges and opportunities for improvement. I enjoy identifying areas for enhancement in established processes and collaborating with colleagues to innovate and drive positive change.

What has kept you motivated and committed to the company for such a long period?

My motivation comes from the great people I work with. The strong camaraderie and support within the team create an enjoyable work environment. I find fulfillment in helping others and our shared dedication to improvement keeps me engaged.

If you could describe EOGB in three words, what would they be?

Dynamic, Supportive, and Customer-focused.

Meet the Team – Kelly Housden

Kelly Housden has been a vital part of the EOGB Sales Support team for 17 years! Over this time, she has seen the company grow, evolve, and transform in many ways. Kelly agreed to share what has stayed the same throughout the years, what continues to motivate her, and why EOGB still feels like the right place for her.

What was your first role at EOGB, and how have your responsibilities evolved over the years?

My first role was a Purchasing assistant. I was then moved into Sales to cover maternity leave. Taking on this role, I had a lot to learn, and in the busy periods, you really had to learn as you go on the job. The more confident I became, the more responsibility I was given.

What skills have you developed throughout your career at EOGB?

Skills I have developed would definitely be how confident this job has made me in myself. I have learned how to work as a team and have had many interesting conversations over the years with our lovely customers. Some I have been talking to from the beginning, so it’s nice to build relationships with them.

What is the best aspect of your job now?

The best aspect of my job has always been the people that I work with. I have been lucky that I have worked alongside great sales teams over the years. We have always looked after each other and helped each other when it’s needed. I have had to be absent from my job twice for long periods of time, and I was never made to feel like it was an issue. The team always supported me and my family.

What has kept you motivated and committed to the company for such a long period?

What keeps me motivated is that I want the company to succeed, and I like it when the customers say how much they like dealing with us. It’s nice to feel appreciated.

If you could describe EOGB in three words, what would they be?

The Best Team.

So next time you call EOGB with a spares request, there’s a good chance you’ll be speaking to Kelly herself — the friendly voice who keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
